I've been to York Minster a few times, it's fantastic, but it's no Liverpool.

Thats very true, and for that, we can be very thankful.

Indeed you cannot walk around Bridlington or Scarborough with out seeing smelly Wesies everywhere.

Well that's obvious York minister still has its lead on its roof for a start.

Further south at the Hornsea's and Withernsea's they have moved in lock, stock and barrel.
THey aren't even economically advantageous.
A tighter more reticent bunch would be difficult to find.

When I lived on the East Coast we used to love the annual event of the Wessies floating out to sea on lilo's and having to be rescued by a Sea King from Leconfield.

You can float out to sea from the Withernsea/Hornsea coast just by lying on a lilo on a cliff top for more than three hours.

The excuse "But officer, I fell asleep 50 yards from the cliff top and when I woke up I was in the sea" just won't work.

I was expecting a bigger bite than that McF.

...or, "I was lying asleep in my hotel room when I was awoken by these kind men from the Flamborough Lifeboat informing me that it was illegal to sail a hotel bed in the middle of a shipping lane without lights or radio"...
