By the way, my above comment about Froome supporting Wiggins was not a criticism of Froome, it was aimed at those who claimed that Froome was the better rider overall. I still maintain that Froome, while clearly ambitious for success of his own, was happy to do what was asked of him.

I can't put into words what this means to me. And the fact that he's a normal everyday bloke who loves rugby league is great too!

If the course suits Froome (i.e. more mountains and summit finishes) then it's possible. Sky aren't daft, they'll pick a team leader based on the route rather than blindly sticking with Wiggins IMO. I thought they'd allow Froome to lead the Giro team, but it would be hard to deny him his tour chance.

l'Alpe d'Huez is pencilled in but the date hasn't yet been decided - it's actually starting in Corsica next year

just heard Brian Robinson who was the first british winner of a tour stage in 1958 say that he is in Paris with a delegation in a bid to get a future tour started in his native Yorkshire !!!

as I see it all Yorkshire & France have in common is a foreign language !
