Either you're a loyal domestique or you're not. That last 2km you've just shown the world that you're not exactly happy in your role.

agreed, he should back off a little bit with the body language etc. he'll get enough praise for his efforts this year as it is. his time is still to come

jason kenny has been selected for the individual sprint in the olympics ahead of sir chris hoy. hoy to ride the keirin and also both will take part in the team sprint.

probably the right decision in my view

In the interview after the race Wiggins pretty much said he would return the favour to Froome next year, didn't this scenario happen in the mid 80's with Hinault and Le Mond?

Also will Sunday's coverage be moved to ITV1 from ITV4 ?, it deserves large viewing figures.

Yes, but I'd be inclined to believe that Wiggins would actually deliver on his promise. Something Hinault didn't really do, even though LeMond won through in the end.

I believe the TV coverage has been moved to ITV1.

Be interesting to see how much Wiggins and Cavendish have left in their legs for the Olympics. Some of the other contenders have already dropped out of the Tour, and with the green jersey out of reach I thought Cav may do the same. Paris will still be there next year, the Olympics won't.

Judging by their post-race comments* Wiggins lost his head a bit realising he was all but home and Froome's actions were to get him back on track and take a bit more time out of Nibbles. That and a realisation they could get the win from Valverde if they really turned it on, but I'm inclined to believe there was no major issue.

* - yes, I know, Sky are very efficient at that as well

Before we all doff our chapeaus to Sir Bradley though, he's not quite done it yet. Gilbert and Menchov have been brought down by an errant dog. It only takes some freak accident like that....

Is there a rule against putting stabilisers on your bike?

Exactly, all a big fuss over nothing for me. Froome has done a magnificent job for Wiggins this tour, and the chances are it wouldn't have been anywhere near as comfortable for Brad if Froome wasn't there. People can say all they want about Froome's body language, but he's curbed what may or may not be his natural instinct and done the job he was asked to do and more.

That, really, is all that counts.

Prefer the Eurosport commentary but the ITV presenting team. Imlach, Boulting, Boardman - dream team.
