Looks like there maybe a few twists and turns yet but, definitely "hot pursuit" taking place!
That could be a problem. I can't really think of anyone contracted that would fit both criteria of us willing to let them go and Cas wanting them. The closest possibility is the rumours about Tickle wanting out, but would Cas be closer enough to home for him to be interested?

Falls in the 'Why would Cas want him?' category IMO. They have Owen at fullback and have just brought Ellis in in the halves. If they were letting Chase go they'd need a much better replacement than Horne to go with Ellis IMO. What appeal would he hold for them at his age and with his recent injury record?
What a place this Board is becoming, I honestly believe some folks just enjoy grumbling . If it was Broughy we were after it would been "Rememeber what he was like last time we might as well have gone after Chase". If it was Holdsworth it would have been, "He's not as good as Chase we havn't been ambitious enough" and so it goes.
Who would have believed a year ago that by now we would have fought off Leeds and a couple of other top Clubs for the signing of Gareth Ellis still probably the best exiled Brit in Australia then we would be getting close to signing the current man of steel in the same recruitment campaign, I know I wouldn't!!! Gentle believes he has the ability to make bad lads into good un's and when they are really talented its a risk you have to take, in Australia for managers and coaches its par for the course.
We would never have signed, Mick Crane (twice) Peter Sterling, Knocker Norton, Lee Crooks, Longy and many other legends if their contracts had to include the requirement of being a Methodist, there was still a risk with all of them! I know these are changed times fitness wise, but gambling and drinking have always been an issue with rugby players and probabaly always will be .
If Chase signs then with at least another 6 coming in I will be well pleased myself! In fact I'm pleased that we have an owner who has the ambition and capital to persue him whether we get him or not. Although with the attitude of some fans you can see how one day Pearson might just get p*ssed him off can't you?

Well said. Just think we could be in for players like Sean Gleeson. Now that would be desperate
