Sounds like cost cutting to me, plus I cant believe Shenton is coming to do charity work, he was supposed to be on £200k + a season at Saints, OK you may have reduced that by giving him more security with a longer contract, but he will still be on a decent wedge.

No it isn't. Nobody has placed an official bid for Rangi Chase this season!!


Crowds are very rarely low for games between Hull-Cas in terms of Hull's travelling support, more than Wigan/Warrington could offer. 5k+ for a friendly would be a good return, more so if we stage it at the KC.


Rangi is not a happy man at Cas, he loves his rugby but wants to win trophies. This won't happen with Castleford any time soon.


They are trying to heavily invest in the stadium project. I'm not saying they are going bust or getting rid of everyone but they are simply trying to get more for their money. If Chase leaves they will not spend the same cap next year as this.


By swap i meant 1-out-1-in, not a direct actual swap. The 2 deals were seperate but Ellis is on a fraction of McGoldrick's wage.

You are aware that money is coming from selling the land the club own, right? Selling players wouldn't do anything in regards to the stadium, now you're just trying to think of reasons as to why Cas want to sell players, when they don't.



As well as being in the future plans of the club, bringing him in early makes sense - as does shipping out McGoldrick who had no future at the club.

The club are building a squad that will have Chase & Clark at the heart of it next season and will be in & around the top 8.
