If not very subtle!!! Surely they wouldn't risk that sort of headline if the deal could still go belly up?
My guess is both Hull and Cas are looking for a suitable way to wrap everything up, conclusion of Internal Investigation, 5 minute pause, Chase signs for Hull.
If you have played your hand correctly the fee might not be too stratospheric, since clearly Cas are desperate to get out from under a crippling contract, with a player who no longer wants to be there. The other suitors have taken a deep breath over the size of previous transfer fees being talked up and no doubt Chase's behaviour about it all. So if you have gone in hard with serious, but not ridiculous money, Cas may have bitten your hand off. Originally I am sure they were hoping for a bidding war, but that seems to have fallen away.
You never know the Ellis/McGoldrick "swap" may have paved the way for all this to happen!!!
I to have been told holdsworth had signed, but was also told earlier in the season that gentle didn't rate seymore for what he's been paid, maybe holdsworth and chase will be our new half backs next year
Wonder if the Chase thing has anything to do with Richard Wright stepping down? Maybe the BOD's at Cas have made the decision and Wright feels like his nose is being 'pushed out of the joint'?
