further to the sun article, the players responses from tiwtter would suggest this has gone down poorly,.
Patten - 'when I thought I seen it all'...'trying not to say something ill regret' etc etc
Holdworth - were being fed the same 'sh*t week after week like a record on repeat'. Also suggesting that lots of people are 'derricks' which appears to be playeers code for another 'D' word
Think the players need to grow up a bit. Yes your mates gone, BUT its a good deal for the club so surely they can see that!
Cant see how we'll keep many of our soon to be out of contract players (DJ, moon, broughton) with the moral / negativity from the players.

If you click on that one tweet, you can see that he's actually replying to Gareth Owen talking about Stevo's commentary on Sky. Although the 'Derricks' comment I presume is about the Matty Smith situation.

Sorry but if the players can't see the business sense in this then they need to go back to school. Very remote (if any) chance of making the play offs. A player every man and his dog knows was off anyway. A club where cash isn't oozing out of the seems. A chance for a few games to blood his natural replacement to see if he can cut it and then plan accordingly off season.
For once I think Salford have done this right, made some much needed cash.

Agree 100%
At least this time when we lose one of our better players we get something for it. Still don't think he's Wigan standard but if they are willing to pay for him who are we to complain!
Let's hope Sneyd is able to impress and make a case for next season. I'd much prefer Salford to spend what ever money they have on the pack rather than another playmaker. If we beef up the pack so DJ can play for Salford the way he did for The Exiles then it'll be money well spent.

That's what I was saying about twitter, Holdsworth has done it again today saying ''So f*cking angry'' Yes it might not be rugby related but I'm 95% sure it is about the Smith saga, I'm getting pretty fed up of it tbh they need to act a little bit more professional.
They need to get in the real world, or maybe they would prefer to work for a club such as Bradford. A sound move for Salford, can't see what they are moaning about really. I'm sure smith was not forced out he is not a slave.
We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.

Speaking of Bradford they have £20,000 to pay players with when they need £200k, the RFL have said they will be OK because they have a home match against London on Sunday and hope to get 15,000 so cover the wage bill as well as getting Sky money which is due in a couple of weeks and selling players. But the third option depends on other clubs having money and space under the salary cap. The first on season ticket holders paying again to get in to boost the coffers and getting the people of Bradford out again to part with hard earned cash like the first £500k raised, it also assumes that they don't mind doing this for each of the home games to be able to pay the wage bills for the next three months.

If DJ is unhappy, get rid of him too. Him and his mate Patten have made it clear throughout the season through various comments that they are not happy with our club.
Smith has gone, Patten is going, DJ needs to make his mind up as well. If Hull FC or anyone wants him, I hope we take a decent fee for him and sign or promote someone who IS committed and WILL perform for us next season.
The last thing we need next year is another 'star' player going through the motions until the next contract comes along.
