Sean Long to come out of retirement for rest of the season???

That's not a terrible shout. Although I'd definitely prefer Sneyd or Fages to be given some game time (It may well be too early for Theo though) I think it would be a good move for Longy to register himself with the RFL. Still plays a bit of RU so should be in shape and practically designed our attacking structures, so no excuses not to know the plays.

Got to hold a unique place now as a player who will twice play in the playoffs for teams he didn't play most of the season for, hasn't he? And 2 different teams at that.

Smith was going for nothing in 8 games - now he's gone for something
Plus the club will save paying him about 4 months wages whilst allowing Sneyd or another youngster to gain some valuable experiance.
First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.

He's just put on his twitter account to DJ ''I better start dusting my boots off mmmm'' Think it'd be a tad embarrassing for the club if we have to do that but I'd rather play Long than Sneyd at this stage, alternate between the pair even give Sneyd some game time and see if he is good enough for the starting berth next season, which if he is Warrington or Wigan will poach him in two years time and then we start all over again.
Salford wont make the playoffs, so if they can get a transfer fee then why not send Smith to Wigan early rather than just training him and giving him game time for their benefit. If this Sneyd is as good as ive been hearing then you have a real gem, and if you're good enough you're old enough so you can give him some game time and get ready for a real push next season.
Official now according to the club's Facebook and official site. We received a "substantial" offer apparently, one "we couldn’t turn down". I don't rate him as highly as some others and Wigan must do, but I'm still sad to see him go. Had it been the end of the season then fine, but with games still left to play, what are we supposed to do now?
