Finally got round to playing Mass Effect 3 now it's cheap. Loving the voice controls. It's the future. The possibilities really are endless. Surprisingly it works really well as well, voice control is definitely Kinect's strong point.

I ain't a big gamer at all and only really bought the PS3 because I'm an impulsive (correct word?) buyer so was going to get rid of my PS3 and replace it with an out and out blu ray player. Think I may hold on to it now.
Any idea when the get is due to be released?
Some time in 2013.
Watch_Dogs looks top notch and I'm itching to get my hands on Bioshock Infinite.

No it isn't awful. End of.
Quote:Isn't that what real keepers do?
If you press triangle, the keeper will punch the ball regardless of the position he is in sometimes, if there is no one around the keeper and its a simple catch. It's broken.
Quote:The defending is fine on FIFA 12. They got the balance right and if you are good at it, you can defend well.
No it isn't, defenders run around like headless chickens sometimes, especially when the momentum mechanic comes into play, players just randomly stop marking their men. Rubbish.
Quote:What are you playing it on? I can honestly say I've never seen any of this on the Xbox. Graphical glitches are very rare and the only ones I can remember seeing are to do with the collision engine when players fall on each other and spasming together.
No thats not what I meant, players have no sense of direction, if a player is in their way, they don't run around them but straight into them, this happens a lot when defending. It's slack work from the programmers.
Quote:The biggest problem FIFA has is a chronic lack of competition. Pro Evo has been a joke since the very early PS2 days and there is no other competition.
Talking smack here I'm afraid, FIFA 04, 05, 06, and 07 were awful games and the PES iterations were streets ahead. 08 was an improvement and 09 and 10 were slight improvements. 11 was another improvement, with a lot of faults that needed addressing which weren't in FIFA 12.
Quote:That means EA can think about game modes (Better than Pro Evos) and just make minor changes to the gameplay this time. What is lacking on FIFA most is variety. Players are ALWAYS in the same base position for each scenario, goal kicks, corners, free kicks. So you always know where the players are and can pass the ball so easily to the same old players. For me from a goal kick it's a pass to the right back, central midfielder, right midfielder, one two with the stiker and a cross/pull back. Unless I prevent myself doing it, it's so easy to fall into the same old play. There is no movement, no individuality to the players and no variety to the gameplay.
From what I've seen so far of FIFA 13 it just looks like 12 with a few new gimmicks tacked on. Things like quick throw ins will be improved, and there are now tactical free kicks, and a new first touch system, but these things will be irrelevant when there are so many faults that still need to be addressed.

Yet it'll still be the best football game there is. Pro Evo is not as good as FIFA and it'll take something pretty major to change that, which I don't see happening until the next generation of consoles given the difference in what each company invests in their game. What I don't understand is if you think Pro Evo is better, why not play that rather than moan about FIFA? I've been having these discussions with Roddy for about 3 years now, yet he's still bought each FIFA and is still moaning about his experiences now, so clearly still playing it.
I'd love nothing more than a football game to be better than FIFA, but Pro Evo definitely isn't. EA can't really do anything to change it either, as the fans know FIFA. It would cause a gigantic backlash if they changed the feel of the game. Minor improvements here and there is really all they can do, look at the explosion on the internet when they stopped people being able to just hold red/circle to defend and made them do it themselves, death threats and organised corporate boycotts everywhere. Can you imagine the fuss if they actually changed FIFA's core gameplay?

Only reason I don't buy PES is because all my mates buy Fifa. If everybody started getting into PES then I would. If the Fifa13 demo flops then I'll definitely go for PES. Assuming I have a PS3 that is, I had another robbed on Sunday...

Jesus mate, where do you live? You need to invest in some steel bars for the windows and doors and a mean dog.

ATEOTD, Fifa is good enough for me a to have a laugh whilst playing with a few mates, I don't go on to play and expect it to exactly reflect real football, it's just a game. I can play it and have fun, I can acknowledge there are some errors in the game but not so much that it makes it unplayable. If you really think it's so bad and get so frustrated by it I can't understand why you would continue to play it until you get red in the face. It's not as bad as some of you make out.
Rule 1. I am always right. Rule 2. If in any case I appear wrong, refer to rule 1.
