Was it you who wrote a column in the daily mirror dally?
A columinst was whinging and saying how far away from "modern london" this "green and pleasant land" was. Not sure if he wanted a set with a block of offices and some posh tw@@ts racking up thousands of pounds on a wine bill, whilst working for a company recording huge losses on the stock market.
He kept going on about how this was such a misrepresentation of London. He never actually offered an alternative though. You only have to fly over England to realise this is a green and pleasant land that we live in (and I live next to the M1). As usual, people whinge, but there isn't any better suggestions. I look forward to what this great country can offer. I am sure it will not disappoint.

Why don't tey just have the massed bands of the Army playing for a bit, bring the Queen out for a bit, then light the cauldron. It's what people would actually want to see from an opening ceremony and it would be a hell of a lot cheaper.
