If he was guilty, he certainly was not the only one involved.

Interesting "refresher" article in this week's Private Eye about possible miscarriage of justice (forensic evidence withheld, mistaken identity by a key witness who may or may not have been influenced by others), suggests this was a convenient conviction which merits further examination.

They have been pretty consistent in their belief that this was never as portrayed and always held the blame at Palestinian rebels funded by Syria. The Maltese angle was always pretty flimsy evidence at best.

After all these year the relatives of those who died deserve to have the truth given to them, without the CIA and M15 "need to blame" elements.

Indeed. It's quite scandelous that the only conviction in this case was declared unsafe by the SCCRC, yet that is being basically ignored because of his compassionate release leaving the relatives in complete limbo.

If anyone fancies a read of it the SCCRC's statement on the appeal it's online here
