Correction, looks like he's still hanging around

Even if he had joined Robin and Donna in the choir invisibule, I don't think this thread was meant as a yardstick to judge the relative world impacts made by random pop stars and random countries' leaders? :?

And I didn't even know he could sing, although I love his tattoo

Donna Summer may have been the queen of disco but her defining record for me was her brilliant version of Macarthur Park.

First of all I have to declare that I absolutely hated the late 1970s disco era, hated it then, hate it now, always will, poop served up in a tub and sold as choclate ice cream.

So you won't be surprised that I totally disagree with your opinion on how she violated one of Jimmy Webb's finest songs.

In fact I'd like to know. I don't think they particularly came across in a negative way.

On the basis of a recent documentary alone, utterly lacking in any sense of self-deprecation and humour. So unbelievably full of themselves, convinced of their total genius, and also a tad creepy, in a Cliff sort of way.

As I said, I love some of the music.

Do you remember the time they were on Clive Anderson's chat show and they got up mid-interview and fooked off? They didn't seem to like having the mickey taken out of them, that's for sure.

Just watched it on youtube. You could see the dummy spit coming about five minutes before it happened.

You must have liked "Disco Duck", though?

Only the Totp performance with Ruby Flipper.

Look up 'Ruby Flipper, Rick Dees & His Cast Of Idiots - Disco Duck (HQ) |TOTP 23-09-1976| ' on the usual place.

Leeds Rhinos? 8 for you, Leeds Rhinos! You go, Leeds Rhinos.

And none for Castleford Tigers. Bye!

I'll begrudgingly allow you that one, but I won't dance for you.

I agree with mintball's view of the Bee Gees as coming across as almost completely humourless and arrogant. I can't stand most of their stuff either.
