Sirius Academy could make history on Wednesday as the greatest school rugby team of all time. They play in Leeds on Wedneday for the National Cup final.

Although the academy is linked with Hull Fc, the team is dominated by Rovers Under 16 players, if we can keep these players surely the future is bright - especially with Sandercocks proven record of developing youth.

This is something everyone rugby fan from Hull must be proud of.

I've seen this team develop, some very good players and wouldn't surprise me if a couple of them were not playing first team rugby next season!

Good luck Sirius

Best of luck to all the youngster involved.

Whilst wishing the lads well - you say greatest school team of all time - no mean fate - could you explain how this is so?

Sirius have made history by being the first team to make the National finals 3 consecutive seasons, this their 4th in 5 seasons. They have also dominated the Yorkshire cup.

I accept there maybe another team sometime many moons ago that could maybe better this record, but they must be up there as one of the greatest school rugby team (especially to come out of hull).
If the hull sides can keep the majority of the players than this can only be good for rugby in Hull.

Good luck in your match.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Not my match Sandra - just hope the lads from the Hull can show that Hull could be the new hot-bed for Youth rugby league and rovers can develop these players like Leeds and saints have in recent years

Whilst Sirius are achieving a great feat, its not too hard to be one of the best due to the game still not being recognised so highly by so many schools.

This is one area that does need work and hopefully the work done by Sirius can help strengthen that game in schools

What gets me is why havent we set up a system with the new Archie school? Just like FC have with sirius.
Cant be hard to do can it? Its a massive school that know covers for 3 closed down schools with a SL team a stone throw away from it- it should be a complete hotbed for talent if the right coaching and mindset is in place.

Have you thought of entering the stone throwing championships? You'd win with a throw like that.

Did FC set up Sirius? I thought it was a joint initiative.

Dont think any teams are playing from there which is a shame as it would be great for a youth teams base when someof them are scrapping over grounds and moving each year

Maybe down to costs, but if the pitches are set up its a travesty not to use them
