Our one biggest problem, is fans think we're a lot better than we really are. When we get hammered against a top team, it's a shambles/disgrace and all that jazz. We need to accept the fact we are an average team, with average players.
Sandercock has his remit, improve things from the bottom upwards over a period of time. If he's to achieve this, then Rovers' board need to offer the likes of Taylor a contract, that will match his importance to us over the next 5 years and beyond.

i'm not inspired with confidence in sandchebs so far though, most press conferences sound defeatist at best and surely he can tell/coach his team to not give stupid penalties away

It's a simplistic view though. rovers were giving away penalties because they couldn't get near to matching wigan's intensity and the pace they were playing at. As soon as that intensity dropped, rovers got some ball and started to look better, however it was purely down to wigan dropping off. When we played wigan a couple of weeks ago they played like that for about 60 minutes. It was great to watch as a rugby fan but painful as a Hull one
At least we didn't get dry bummed on our own muck, record defeat at KC in Superleague, wasn't it?
After McDonnell taking out Wigans 14th man, sign him on! Shocked at the VR decision, the ref stopped McDonnell being in position to stop the try, should have been wiped off for me.

So that's where he's been going wrong, he needs to tell the players not to give penalties away & to tackle correctly. FFS.

Our team for that game was like you playing without:
webster welham green dobson withers galea o'hara taylor no it wasnt and funnily enough we have played without those players mentioned and was told by you lot that every team gets injuries And playing chris chester on the bench

kinda part of his job imo to improve the team, surely these two aspects being sorted would improve things.....

I agree, but these are full time professional players, not 7 year olds learning how to tackle. He shouldn't have to tell them to do it, it's just basics.
