Oh stop being so precious. There's a large majority of our own fans that would dry frep themselves, if roles were reversed.
It's RL, someone goes down, there's a cheer. Someone stays down, there's quiet and respect. Later, usually followed by applause and respect.

OK then. It's perfectly OK to cheer when someone is quite clearly injured

Rovers fans have done it on many occasion when an opposition player has gone down, you never can tell if someone is seriously injured, it's a contact sport, you see a player drop and you cheer, then you think "oh, hope he's alright" then you applaud as they regain their feet and either play on or leave the field.

The occasion that sticks in my head was the friendly in which Reece Lyne copped a hit from Welham which dislodged the ball, gave us 6 points and left Reece on the floor, there was a cheer as the ball came loose from the hit and applause as he left the field.

So no one ever cheers when someone goes down after a tackle ...
Injuries are apart of our game, no one wishes ill fate on fellow opponents, but it's a fact that, it happens and will always happen.
As the poster admitted, he clapped and moved on. I suggest everyone else does, instead of looking for petty points scoring opportunities.

Too right. I remember calling the Reece Lyne incident for what it was at the time. Big hit and Lyne came off second best.
Cheered for the try/hit combo and then respected Lyne when he was injured and applauded him off @ h/t.
I seem to recall, Biasrat took offence to this.

Also like when Tom Briscoe broke his leg in front of us one game - we all fell silent. Applauded him off, before both sides broke into "shoot the KR/FC scum" That's just RL in Hull.

Rarely the jeers of an injured player are taken too far, I don't recall it at a game I've attended from either set of fans. The biggest arguments of such behaviour seen to be between Wigan and Leeds with McGuire and Tomkins respectively.

Evening Dumz - see you've being busy

Hard to call the McGuire injury incident.
One hand his foul play got what it deserved.
The other, one match situation ended with him out for months.
