Its always the same after a Derby Defeat, people looking for excuses when in reality were were simply outplayed for most of the game and got the result we deserved. Still plenty of time to turn the season around as in 2010 and 2011, but if I'm honest from what I've seen so far I doubt that is going to happen. If we can win what will be a tough game on Monday and beat the Catalans in the cup it will be a start.

yes i think people forget how bad we were last year and it wasnt until we had we had a good run at the end of the season that made it look better than it was

einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result

What I would be most worried about is the amount of times Rovers concede 30+. Rovers can score points but this poor defence issue is there for all to see and yet week in week out nothing changes. Is it fitness, self belief, coaching?
Maybe it's to early to talk about must win games? However it is going to do nothing for confidence if Rovers loose at Salford, and confidence looks low already. Saints and Bradford fill 6th and 7th spot at the moment, the Bulls are looking better and better with each game, who else can you see Rovers catching out of the 8? Its a big, big game against Salford, loose and the pressure will be on the coach and surely that brings more pressure to the players on the pitch which wont help.

Now that the dust has settled on Fridays derby. Some facts positive and negative. The KC SL derby last season was a 36-18 defeat and we finished the season in the play offs and above Hull FC at the end. We had a similar injury ravaged start to last season and the Mason debacle. The corresponding games last season brought 8 points, whereas this season we have 7 points. We lost to Salford away 34-18, so "if" we claim the two points tomorrow we will have 9 points, one better then last season. The thing that has annoyed me this season is the with a bit more concentration we could have had a lot more points and the depression wouldn't have fallen at all.

This is dead right and lets be honest if we can and i mean if we can pull of a shock against catal in the c cup we will be a lot happier i know its the past but we have been down this road before they was going to sack roger when we started bad in 1979/80 we went on to win the cup you never know it might happen again :thumb:

I think Rovers biggest problem is there fitness, they looked like a championship team in the last 20 minutes on Friday. We forced a drop out and all the Hull players had taken position and the Rovers players we're blowing and finding it hard to pick themselves back up to defend a set of 6. I think even when we had the game won we had moved to set a scrum before Rovers had even formed it. Admittedly I have not seen Rovers on a regular basis this season so am unsure as to whether this was due to a game plan enforced by Hull or Rovers are just not fit enough. Maybe doing too much in training ?

Our fitness or lack of, isn't why we're where we are, or indeed why you frepped us. You're doing us a favour suggesting it's as simple as that. Our 2nd half performances have been nothing short of rubbish for most of the season. Hell, this even pre dates Sandy. But, just like Sandy - I don't have any reason for this.

You're right tho' - even when the difference was 8 pts (? I forget) - you formed two scrums in your own 20 before we did.
This spoke volumes about our enthusiasm and why (apart from being skill frepped) we came up a long way short.

One thing I noticed about KR when I have seen them on the TV ect is that you seem to get into promising postions and then drop the ball and give posession away.

I think it mainly is a fitness thing, your right it pre dates CS because I dont think we was that fit under Morgan for the last couple of years he was in charge. Fitness wise we are not in the same league as the top 5 clubs.

I don't see it as a job. It is a passion and love that we all share. Neil Hudgell
