The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

What Coddy and others have said. Do it.
Life's too short to fanny around thinking about what to do when you get an opportunity like this, and you've pretty much answered your own question in your original post.

Very Valid points Rooster, as il be on Temporary Residence Visa at first I arent sure if il be able to get LAFHA, but certainly worth asking - and also I know there are salary sacrifice schemes for purchasing a car.
In all honesty I cant see me turning it down providing the offer is right, il be earning a damn sight more than I do here and wont be getting flogged half as much as I do here. The grass isnt always greener, but it certainly looks that way.

The wife's daughter & partner have just gone back to Aus again . They where up in north QLD first before a couple of months in Asia. They are staying in Melbourne this time around and they love it. They have said about the prices of some food and drink being expensive but I recon they'll make there stay permanent. I wouldn't need a second thought to go..

It's always something I've wanted to do and I have no ties other than family in this country. Under the agreement I can take the other half, I'd get a full relocation package ( flights, visa, container, hotels & car for a time when I arrive, and a large cash sum), $87k starting salary plus shift rates, overtime and bonuses. Being only in my early 20's and having never even visited Australia - I thought I'd ask the RLfans community as I know there are a quite a few Aussies/ex pats and general travel officianados on here.
Is the cost of living really that high there? Is Newcastle a nice area? Etc. Etc. The 4 day working week, outdoor lifestyle, and rugby league are obviously plus points but I know there's also plenty of negatives!
Any opinions or advice would be appreciated!

As all the others have said...get over there and give it try. It's not as if it's the other side of the world...oh, hold on! If you don't like it come back...easily done and at least you'll not have that nagging feeling for the rest of your life.

You will be able to claim the allowance if you're a temporary resident. I really do recommened it, not only as it's a tax break, but that you don't have to think about finding money for your rent. etc. etc. How many years is your visa for? You can get up to 4 years I believe.
Also, for parity here is a BBC article about people leaving Oz:
Where you are and the money you're earning, you should be OK. The beach up round there is pleasant. Though if you're in the aeronautical business will you be out by Williamtown?
