Much fun to be had yesterday watching "The Big Questions" on BBC1 - the liberal and raving loony wings of the Anglican church sat tearing strips off each other while a smug Catholic sat in the front row grinning himself to death. :)

It all comes down to how you interpret the Bible, and whether you believe it to be the word of God or not apparently. Given the New Testament was written about 400 years after the fact it's pretty funny to see those who are prepared to treat it as a contemporaneous record of events defending their position.

I have yet to read anything about his church castrating young boys either to 'help' them against homosexuality or as a punishment for speaking out about abusive priests, as per the stories now coming out of the Netherlands, which also include the revelation that a former Dutch PM knew what his church was doing and help keep it secret.

If ever there was a case of religion attempting to trump common sense, then these three should be thrown out of office on the grounds that if lunatics cannot vote, they should certainly not be allowed to serve in Parliament.

MPs demand ASA overturn ban on Healing on the Streets claim that god can heal through prayer

They are now asking the ASA for scientific evidence that god cannot heal. They're even citing the case of Patrice Muamba

Why would the Archbishop of Canterbury kiss the Pope's ring ?

Can't the SAS just covertly bump them off and then they won't have to prove anything.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Now my post just looks silly, I can manage it all on my own without you helping out.
