North Road is not a hill!!!
It's a slight incline. Try Gathurst, that's for REAL runners.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

If you get a taxi into town, tell the driver to drop you at B&M in town (there's another B&M on a retail park). This will put you next to P-03 and the George is just round the corner.

Alternatively, both stations have a bus stop outside, the fare is a couple of quid and the bus will drop you at B&M or at the Bus Station, on the map as 01.

Owt else? I'm here all week! ;)

Thanks, i've googled it and i'll get off at Lea Green then and walk to the stadium to stretch the legs and suss the timing for after the match. Coming over earlier as well to sample the George, Bavarian Beers, Nice !! Schneider Weiss even better :DRUNK: Booked the day off work and win lose or draw this is one away trip im really looking forward to with the new Langtree Park.

Try riding a bike from Manchester to Blackpool through Haigh Hall, then you'll meet some serious hills.

Kudos on doing the run by the way!

I'm running for the SPF, and hoping (although not a serious runner at all) to do it in less than an hour. Not looking forward to North Road, but compared to the hills in Sheffield it's a doddle :D

Maybe see you there!

Having lived in Sheffield for four years I can vouch for the hilliness of the hills there! I remember having a nice skate downhill in my car thanks to snow and ice. No, North Road isn't as big a hill as some of those in Sheffield but it still fools you, especially if (like me) the only running you ever do is the bath! There are also two other inclines in quick succession following on from North Road, but just far enough afterwards to fool you into thinking that it's going to be flat from now on. I think too that the fact North Road (and other inclines) come slap bang in the middle of the run is another factor to consider when being a novice like me. The professional runners won't figure it all for much. I think one person wants to do the full circuit in 33 minutes. I'm aiming to beat my 1.5 hours! But most of all I just want to finish so that I can hand over my sponsor money to my charity. I wouldn't be doing it at all if it wasn't a charity event.

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Lovely stadium but we parked in the multi storey and it was a nightmare to get out, think the fact that it's in the city centre obviously causes some problems parking.

Apart from the balls up at the turnstyles leaving hundreds of home and away fans missing kick off, couldn't fault anything else about the away day experience. Mega impressed with the stadium, despite booing their side off (those that were left) the Saints fans must be chuffed to bits with moving from KR to LP.

we had no problems getting out of the multi storey car parks, but we managed to get there early enough to park in the one closest to the ground, from getting out the stadium back to the m62 it took us 15 minutes! now............it would have been nice to have known about the m62 being closed on the way home!
