TBH the main reason why i thought he'd struggle was due to size and power but he certainly puts his self about.

That came into his game during his Huddersfield spell, think Brown had a big impact on him.

I think it will be a tough game, we have weaknesses but I think we (Saints) have been tightening up over the last couple of weeks. Our defence was 100% better at Huddersfield. But our major weakness this year does seam to be the penalty and error count. We gave Huddersfield masses of territory will stupid things when we had them pinned in their own half.

I've not seen much of Hull, but the injury to Yeaman cannot be helpful. I'd be looking for a home win for us on this one, but I would not predict the score as early season results are hard to read, most teams have all their bodies on board, quite a few new coaches and everyone is feeling everyone out.

Hope the journey over is not too bad, as I'll be heading the same way. The ground is pretty easy to find, but you have to go past it to find the parking areas in the town. Don't worry too much about the parking though as there is plenty of space and even if you parked on the wrong side of the town centre it would only add an extra 5 to 10 minutes walking time.

Enjoy the night but not too much. ;-)

IF and it's a big IF I know , we take a 24 point (diff) beating , should we be concerned ?

I personally think we will lose by about 10 and if we keep Saints to less than 18 points then I will assume we have made progress. DEFENCE is everything and you can tell an awful lot about a side based on defence. Losing 18-8 would be much better than 42 32 for e.g. , without stating the obvious etc

If we lose by 24 + then I personally will be VERY worried but I really hope we play at the same tempo ala Wire game and get a special result.

When Brian Smith had us on the up in '89 I remember going to Wigan and getting a cracking result. We need a win at Saints as they are not the Wigan of '89 and then I would feel we are starting something special.

I have lost interest

Tickle has had some x-rays as a precaution but should play.

He also won the time trials at Saints recently, so he is a nippy bloke too, and is crafty as well (different from Robes in that respect). He also works hard in defence around the ruck. The Saints fans returning from Hudds at the weekend reckoned we didn't actually miss Robes when he went off injured so it might not be quite as fortuitous as you think to have Roby off the pitch.

Just like i said without Roby we win. He must be wondering whats going on though, you guys replaced Graham with an average back rower, your pack would be my main worry.
