When these "wealth creators" move their goods to market on their own private roads and have employees taught in their own private schools they can consider themselves self-made and apply for a rebate. Readjusting their understanding of how they came to be successful seems like a more immediate priority than finding a way to cripple the budget in a climate of austerity.

It's politicians that are that are the problem. They constantly screw the country up with their stupidity. Eg some of the current c**p coming out of Cable defies belief. Like allocating resources to likely growth sectors - as if anyone knows what they will be even in the relatively short term.

You can claim a proportion of fuel, 'phone, mortgage interest (if any), etc, etc.

I work for a company, but am home based and I get the princely sum of £156 per year as a tax free allowance for using it. The whole of our York office went home based when they shut it (around 60 people), so the company pay out £9360 per annum and save a fortune in council tax, electricity, heating etc.
