Thanks a lot for that R.V.M its a great help for me as im coming by train and its not St Helens Central but St Helens Junction so the map is a big help [ plus the tip for the pub in the town centre ]
If your train also stops at Lea Green (one after Junction) get off there instead as it is closer to the town centre and the Stadium.
If you get a taxi into town, tell the driver to drop you at B&M in town (there's another B&M on a retail park). This will put you next to P-03 and the George is just round the corner.
Alternatively, both stations have a bus stop outside, the fare is a couple of quid and the bus will drop you at B&M or at the Bus Station, on the map as 01.
Not that I'm aware of but there is a "German" fridge fully stocked with a wide variety of imported Bavarian brews. And a cooker to match, with Bavarian grub for a quid a pop.
Also cask ale for the quaffers but I'm not 100% sure what's on this weekend.
The best person to comment is the Landlord, I'll point him to this thread.

or try Thatto heath rlfc club house, cracking folks, always friendly, 5 mins drive from ground , cheap and cracking gaff too... Met a top fella/ saints fan in there last year called "the mexican" had us in stitches and stayed with us all , all day, sadly no longer with us but what we witnessed and how friendly it was that day will make us go back time and again ...

Agree with the Thatto Heath shout, just round the corner from me and a cracking facility. They've also started to run a shuttle bus to Langtree Park, £4 return with a free pint either before you go or when you get back. It's a book in advance job but come Friday evening, if there's empty seats and some FC fans with £4 in their pockets, I can't see Thatto Heath saying no.
As for the George, Landlord tells me this week he's got Black Sheep and Bombardier on cask and the Bavarian section has seven varieties of pint sized bottles, including Dunkelweisse and Altbier. I'm assuming that they are very good premium beers?

Good for you! Who are you doing it for? I'm doing the run too (although more of a jog/walk combo for me) for the Saints Foundation. Mind you, you could be one of those serious types who wear a little timer and do stuff like run up North Road! (That's a hill in the middle of the circuit, just for the uninitiated)
