Just wished to tip you off on a few things about getting to Langtree Park.
1 - use the M62 all the way to Junction 7 (watch out for the 50mph areas in the West Ridings).
2 - at Junction 7 follow the A570, it's the fifth exit on the roundabout and Langtree Park is clearly signed on brown tourist info road signs.
3 - at the third roundabout, if you're in a car follow the A570 (2nd exit) to the Town Centre and follow the signage to the Town Centre car parks. They're staffed by the council and secure, cost is £1 but be aware that the multi storey closes at 10:15pm after the match. DON'T PARK AT TESCO!!! They have ANPR cameras and more yellow coated ticket slappers than shoppers. If you wish to do the full "sod off you can take me to court" then go for it but don't say I didn't warn you.
3a - at the third roundabout, if you're in a coach tell the driver to take the fourth exit (signed as coach parking) and then first left to the designated coach parking area.
4 - five minute walk to the stadium. It's roughly the same distance as the walk across West Park to the KC.
5 - if you get the chance and are in the Town Centre, try out some of the back street boozers rather than the usual generic 'Spoons places. In particular, the George on George St - the only RL pub in the Town Centre. Camra members will already know the Turks Head, although it is a bit further out of town.

It's about another mile n half after the Micklehead Green Pub at Lea Green but walking isn't really viable as the A570, St Helens Linkway, doesn't have any pavements! A taxi would cost around a fiver as it's a straight drive to the stadium but tell the taxi driver you want to go to Burger King (and then walk over to the Stadium) otherwise he may go the much longer local route to the actual Stadium entrance road. Best taxis are: Cable Cars - 01744609060; Critchleys -01744813184
Re. the car park times: the council started off with an 11pm close for the first game, then switched to 10:15pm. Having asked my snout at Saints, he says it's back to 11pm so I stand corrected on that one.
