Everybody know's that if you want a 'SPLAT' then you have to throw it flat, spinning it will aid momentum away from it's primary impact and the splat will be on the secondary impact, the floor.

THAT IS TRUE. FOR MAXIMUM SPLATTING IT NEEDS TO BE MORE OF A GRENADE THROW AND LAND IT ON ANDYS HEAD FROM A HEIGHT
