Unfortunately the only Monkee with any musical talent was Mike Nesmith, the others were more actors than musicians. I can't recall one original Monkees song at all, even Daydream Believer sounds better by John Stewart

Disagree, Davy Jones wasn't Pavarotti, but imho had an outstanding pop voice which perfectly suited and sold the stuff they did.
Agree about Mike Nesmith, I still have buried somewhere 2 vinyl albums of his, Magnetic South and Loose Salute, must have another listen sometime as from memory there was some very listenable stuff on both, in a countryfied pop-rock stylee.
