You'll probably get a better deal online, but I can't see it being a problem buying it on the high street.

This thread needs bumping for the SSX demo.
Anyone tried it yet? Absolutely loving it and can't wait for this Friday when the full game is released.

It plays just as well as the great PS2 SSX games and looks beautiful, my current fastest time on the race course is 1:54 if anyone can beat that!

I've read a few very positive reviews, but I wasn't quite believing them. I will have to get on the demo as I loved the PS2 games.

They tweeted it will be put up on superior systems (Xbox Live) on 28th at 8-10 am GMT and for minor systems (PS3) it will be 29th at 12-4am GMT.

So it'll probably be there on Wednesday morning when you get up.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's more realistic than Fifa itself.

I can't imagine you liking any game with the words 'FIFA' in the title.

What they need is some competition, but given how much EA spend on FIFA's development, it's not like we'll ever see anyone else join the race. Maybe the next round of consoles can tempt someone into making a football game.

I can't wait to see how Street plays, the kids are going crazy for it, but I'm not quite sure how it will play. The attacking is pretty self explanatory, it's an exagerated version of FIFA, but what about the defending? I can't see the new style tactical defending applying too well to 2 on 2 show downs?

I played the old FIFA Streets on the PS2 and I really enjoyed them. There wasn't much depth to them and it was slightly repetitive (even more so than the main series), but I still had fun with it. Apparently the last one on this gen was woeful? Can't say I played it.

Either way, a bit more variation in the types of matches would be good. I think you should be able to go all the way from 1v1 to 5-a-side, whilst varying things like pitch size would be pretty cool too. In terms game modes, maybe a Street Ultimate Team would work? I'm not too sure, given Street often limits the amount of players on the game to usually the most popular/skillful, so they'd have to really try to make it work.

With regards to the main series, is there any way to turn off the animations? You know, like, a ball got played over the top of my defence, I was sprinting with my defender trying to intercept, my defender fully stretched, missed the ball and they went away and scored. I never pressed anything to do the stretching animation, I wanted to carry on running as I think I could have nicked it off the defender, but I was never given the chance because the game decided to activate a random animation that ultimately led to a goal. This happens so often, in fact, I'd say I concede more goals through mindless animations than I do through anything else.

Sounds like you're covered then. The game has a one on one mode where you get 5 points for taking someone on with a nutmeg, 3 for flicking it over them and 1 for just going past them, with the aim being first to so many points.

I think it then has 2 on 2 up to 5 a side on pitches from car parks up to full size 5 a side pitches.

It's not the animation. That is caused by the defender you are controlling automatically trying to win the ball because of it's distance from him, much in the same way as they will auto-tackle a player if they run sufficiently close to you. I'm not sure if you can turn 'auto tackle' off in the options at all, but have a look and see if you can set defending to fully manual like you can attacking.

Really want this as I loved the original games but I can't justify paying 40 quid for it. Gonna wait a couple of months until CEX start selling it for £25-£30!
