Lovegrove attacks on the wing and rarely gets the ball, in attack. He moves into the middle to defend in place of Craig Hall, What's the difference between Netherton defending in the middle and not getting involved in the attack from our own line and Lovegrove defending in the middle and not getting involved in the attack from our own line?

The majority of my defence for Netherton is not his skill set or abilities but his team ethic and work rate, something that if shared by the other 12 people in the team on the pitch at the time would almost certainly make a trophy winning team. See any previous derby victories for examples.

Nethertons effort or commitment isn't in question, its his ability, he may well give his all, but his all isn't good enough, he doesn't make the yards he should, People go on about his defence, but last season he averaged 24 tackles a game.

I don't know about anyone else on here, but I am waiting (with more interest than other seasons) on the squad announcement wondering who Sandy is going to select at 7 & 9.

My source at Rovers has kept things pretty close to his chest this week and wouldn't even give a hint whether or not Withers or Josh would be fit or if Callum Taylor and Keal Carlile would be in the running. Similarly, I got a blank stare when I asked him if Lee, Bell or Beherral would be in at 7.

What he did say was Mika, McDonnell and Lovegrove have been training and he expects them to be in the 19.

I await the squad news with baited breath!

Based on Jason's performance for the U20s against Saints last week (we lost 20-10 in what was a cracking and bruising encounter) I thought he looked as though he had got his appetite back. Looking fitter and more mobile he did his cause no harm and it wouldn't surprise me to see him in todays 19 man squad.

I thought that Sam Jowesy, Lloyd Ofosi, George Griffin and Tyla Hepi were all more effective and certainly more aggresive than Jase Netherton against Saints u20s. I would accept that it must be hard for an established first grader to motivate himself to play at that level but i would expect as a bare minimum that he outplays the youngsters around him. He didnt. He will still be in the 19 though i reckon.

Hmmm. Is that just last week's squad, up in error? Murrell? D. Hodgson?

We can replace any injured players in the 19 up to kick off with medical evidence. Maybe Sandercock doesnt want to show his hand. Could be a clever ploy.
Could also be that some wally has e-mailed the RFL last weeks squad.

This is the 19 man squad (with my added extras) as per the Stobart SL on-line site -

McDonnell, Hall, D. Hodgson(out for 4-6 wks), Clinton, Withers(doubtful), Webster, Watts, Wheeldon, Taylor, Lovegrove, J. Hodgson (doubtful), Paea, Horne, Murrell (out for 2 weeks), Mika, Netherton, Cox, Welham, Latus.

As you can see its an unchanged squad?

There has to be a mistake unless certain players have made miraculous recoveries or been patched up or its the worst example of kidology I've ever seen!

I would go with the latter.

I hardly think Wire will be thrown into confusion with this announcement.
