I've got pretty sensitive skin and have had problems with razor bumps/ingrown hairs on my chin and right side of my neck for a few years now. I've only ever used disposable razors. Picked up a battery operated Gillette Fusion Proglide a couple of months ago and the problem seems to all but have disappeared. Been impressed with it so far, little to no discomfort when shaving and I've also managed to get a closer shave but without the irritation I always used to get from doing so.

I use a Parker 99R razor, has a decent weight to it. Feather blades, they take a bit of getting used to but shave superbly once you get used to them). Big thing though I find is a decent soap and a badger hair brush (avoid the £5 boar/artificial ones like the plague.

.....It seems odd I'm agreeing with Dally on something, even if it isn't something life or death, like impending World Armegeddon, but he's right, electric razors are pretty awful.
I have one, but it gives a very, very patchy shave and always needs running over afterwards with a disposable....

On the subject of male grooming, I have had to go industrial when it comes to my toenails. Sidecuts and a cordless Dremel are the only things that work

My big toenails are thick as fook. I usually get the female of the moment to chop them after a bath softening session. Who said romance is dead?

It's probably a fungal infection and takes about 6 months of swallowing tablets to get shut. I'm friggin useless at remembering to take prescription drugs, so I just settled for the Dremel & sidecuts
