I'm making an honest Woman of Dumette soon, I've just had a call from the Rev'd to schedule a meeting where we'll pick some hymns for the service.

There's hundreds of Hymns, yet every Christening and Wedding I've been to, I've known the Hymns.

Anyone had any obscure ones?

Reminds me of when a couple went to a wedding rehearsal,
The Vicar says to the lass who was worried she might get it wrong,"You go up the aisle,you approach the altar,then we have an hymn."

On the wedding day everybody could hear the bride walking along approaching the groom,saying "Aisle,altar,hymn."

I know its a different ceremony, but went to the crematorium back in October last year and the conveyor belt 'hymn' was Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars'. Apparently, its the No1 funeral dirge!

The whole service was in Spanish with an English translation. Unfortunately the translators English wasn't too good, instead of saying " being joined together in this union" she said, "Joining together in this Onion".

They've changed all the beds at Rowley, well, some of them. There's no Single rooms now, They had some single 4-poster beds that were 4ft high and only 5ft long so your legs would hang out gracefully unless you were gingerspice.
