I have been attending games since 1960 & to me all the chanting & songs are not part my match day experiance I come to watch Rugby, when I first came to games the noise & atmosphere consisted of collective ooh's aah's & spontanious rounds of applause or good tackles, breaks or moves (by both teams) there also used to be some very witty remarks from the crowd with very little strong language. The tribal chanting & taunting of opposition fans & players crept into the game from soccer in the mid 70's. As I have said I personally come to watch rugby played & nothing else my enjoyment is better when Rovers win but not essential. Maybe the problem is that Rugby league is not a good enough attraction to people in this era, if that is the case we are in deep poo.
. . .and the sound of RATTLES!
Still got mine
