The majority of my last post was true and from personal experiences. There's a whole load of idiots that chose to spend their time supporting (I'll use that word loosely) Hull KR, Their moaning gets everyone around them downbeat no matter how stupid they're being and it doesn't stop with their moaning. They're always ready to argue with anyone that questions them and their arguments are often colourful and they'll never back down until the other people shuts up/moves away/or agrees with them.

One great example; Pat Richards kicks the ball into the corner for Charnley to catch and go over the line, "FORWARD REF! loving hell how loving forward was that!!" To which someone informs her, "It was a kick", "He Kicked it" "Richard's didn't pass it, he kicked it". They don't listen, they then start with the "You're a loving joke referee" and the "Richard's you cheating 'person with questionable parantage'".

How can you enjoy your matchday experience with this, Paul? How can you be in the moon to sing and chant, with this.

The noisy crowds aren't always performance related, either. Take Wakefield for example; We absolutely stuffed them last season and it wasn't very rowdy at all, Probably because there were only an handful of fans to direct the chants too. I think it requires a balance of a decent game of close rugby (Or a good stuffing of a team whose fan's are held in high disregard), coupled with a good away support.

Changed the words but done it in such a way as to make the quotes still make sense-AS

I''m unemployed and not on any benefit, I saved up for my season pass to support Hull KR as I have since the mid 1960's if Mr Crossland doesn't want my support anymore I will welcomely sell him back my pass and I will become an armchair fan.
I thank him for putting his hard earned money into the Club, but it's my club as much as it is his, he shouldn't have a go at the very people he is trying to attract

QUOTE BY RC- I may be unpopular in saying this but I think supporter complacency has settled in a bit. Who remembers the first game in SL v Wakey? The away win at Salford same season? Great times but since then I feel the atmosphere at home has dropped off in my opinion.

IMO I dont think complacency has set in, I do think however, that expectancy has increased. The first season in SL was great as we were written off before it started so the I believe fans where making the most of the occassion/ party atmosphere in case we dropped back down.

Now I believe we expect more from the club on the field and for me beating FC in the derbies is always nice but now I wouild want us to ....and dare I say challenge for honours.

With this increased expentancy I think fans are probably more nervous in gaining a win, as our on field performances have not been consistent in recent years and this may be why the atmosphere has dropped off.

Just a thought!!

IMHO since they put the new PA system in and started playing music before the game it stops the warm up singing prior to kick off and during the match it struggles to get up to full speed as again the PA chimes in when tries are scored stopping the singing in some instances.

I reckon Rob want's us to take note of his beloved Manchester City, Always well turned out on match days and rarely out sung with little or no expectation for glory (present days the exception).

    We never win at home
    and we never win away
we lost last week and we lost today
    we don't give a love
    'cos we're all p***** up
    M C F C, OK!

Problem is, Man City have always had the numbers and have always had the chanting, HKR have gone from low gates (understandably) in the lower leagues to now a number of fans where the majority don't know any songs, The singing sections have been split up and spread out.

Gimmicks like "The Poznan" gain interest and momentum but our "old school" fans shoot it down when suggested, they'd rather sing red, red robin 20 times.

I agree about the PA system Chang, there's times to play it and times not to.

Celtic have one of the most vocal sets of fans in football, they got 60,000+ chanting Just Can't Get Enough and it took a few months to get everyone into it, They started by playing it before every home game.

Search; The Celtic fans Just Can't Get Enough! Celtic v Them 20/02/11 on YouTube, Amazing fans.

You may be partialy right, however the pre match music has been with us since been in Super league and in fact prior to that, so im not sure that is a main factor .
One thing that i have noticed of recent times is the lack of characters who stand on the terraces and get the crowd motivated, its something i remember been evident a lot more in the past and particularly during the eighties, especialy at the old Craven park where there were people in different locations on the terraces in the old East stand, who used to lead the way in getting people motivated and orchestrating a whole compilation of different songs and chants throughout the games, i still remember some of those characters particuarly well and in my opinion, those types seem to be no longer evident, unfortunately.

Another example of this is from when i went as a guest to watch Newcastle play Man U, i couldn't help but be impresed at the choir leaders or whatever they are called, they never stopped from start to finish in gelling the crowd around them, promting them into chanting and singing, anyone who has been to some of the premier English or Scottish games will probably have noticed the same.
One more thing maybe worth mentioning is, i dont know about anyone else but i get sick of hearing the same old repetitions of, red army rovers till i die, or worst of all imo, we all hate Hull, :FRUSRATED: surely to god there is someone budding songwriter out there who can complile some new material. :)

Amen to that SR, Celtic use kids to start the chants and they call them Junior Capo's, YouTube also has some great vids of them too.

Pedro's been writing some songs but they never really take off, nobody wants to know, they're happy singing the same old.

Search YT for Junior Capo Starts Chants, We could steal this, In the same style of "Give us an R" reworded to;
Come on you Red & Whites
Come on you Red & Whites
Come on you Red & Whites
Come on you Red & Whites

Da Dahh Dah Dah Da Da Da Dahh... (Not sure how to write this bit)

Thats what i was relating to in my post, the choir leaders at some football grounds as an example, perhaps it would be a good idea if some of the younger fans in particular looked at some of the you tube videos that you have refered to, such as the Celtic fans and take some ideas from them.

I also agree about the above mentioned, perhaps it may be something that could be put to the next club/fans meeting, work something out and try it for a period
