And Crossland did kind of intimate that losses and bailouts from the board, cannot continue indefinitely. Also that they would have to listen to any credible investor.
NOt sure what his "dig" at the fans flat atmosphere was all about. Personally I envy the east stand you have.

I just still think, you are not in a million years getting funding for the NOrth Stand (from Europe), the board realise Rovers is not a viable longterm project from a financial point of view, so they will end up selling to Allam. Who will then move to KC, and then in 5 years or so we will see one merged team. Might be wrong like :) (but I honestly don't think it is far from the truth)

Bear in mind that the funding from Europe is not primarily (or maybe at all - if I ever knew how it is structured, I've forgotten), for a North Stand at Rovers. It's for the development onto which the North Stand bolts.

I doubt Allam wants in any deeper. Could be wrong, of course.

You should read the posts a little more slowly and properly and learn how to take comments within the context they were intended.
I was merely making a point of, asking what his expectations were of the fans and then adding a sarcastic  remark regarding him been in the East stand as a cheerleader.

I certainly do not need reminding by someone like you about who did what and when in relation to keeping the club afloat, i have supported the club both home and away for around 44 years all in all, since i was a little nipper, there isn't a rugby league ground within the British isles that i hav'nt been to, including the isle of man for the charity shield match in the early eighties.
You were probably still sat on your potty learning your vocabulary rhetoric of goo goo and ga ga when i was stood on the terraces throughout England supporting Hull Kr, particularly during the seventies, eighties and nineties.
I was one of the people who demonstrated outside the Craven park ground against the old board of directors when they were destroying the club through their total missmanegement, i also, along with other members of an action group which was set up at the time, arranged and sat in on meetings in the board room with the then board of directors, putting forward the concerns of the rest of the fans to them on a monthly or sometimes weekly basis.
Add to this, is the fact that i have some good friends who have been and still are very active in helping the club to move forward, means i am very aware of where the club has been and who has done the most to keep the club afloat.
Like i say, you need to need to take a little time when reading a post before jumping in with your size eleven jackboots on.

Don't understand the dig at the fans also. I stand in the well and the noise from the east stand if anything is awesome. We got tonked at home in a few games last year and stil considering the performance the atmosphere was good as allways.

Think this is a good and clear statement from Crossland, and entirely consistent with Hudgell’s latest comments.

On embarking on the “Promotion – Survival – Consolidate – Challenge” course 6 or 7 years ago, they had the vision of a 14k stadium within a couple of years and, as importantly, envisaged there was the latent fanbase to sustain it. Initial short term paybacks like increasing crowds hugely on promotion and in the two subsequent seasons probably validated this in their minds. As a fan you dare to dream that the angle of the growth line on the graph just continues in perpetuity.

Unfortunately the gap between “consolidate” and “challenge”, is, in reality, probably the most challenging and rewarding gap of all to close. The teams at the top have big stadia, established youth production lines and fanbases upwards of 15k. The fact is that Rovers, like most mid table clubs (yes, including Hull FC) will struggle to bridge that gap short term. The consequence of this for Crossland and Hudgell is that the support of a few hundred grand a year that seemed initially to be a short term deal as a means to a 14k end is now just “business as usual” at full cap. One year’s become two, two have become five, five have become seven with no visible end and cumulative losses over £2m. You have to say they’ve done their bit, with bells on. Extra jangly ones at that.

I really do think that one mistake they’ve made is, in years with a guaranteed franchise, they could have spent a wedge less than £1.65m on the cap and reinvested into the retail operation for a far bigger payback.

Crossland has also said recently that Parasol’s on the market. (http://www.informationfeeds4u.co.uk/new ... ad-parasol ). He’s got a lot of plates spinning, as I’m sure Hudgell has, and what started as an adventure must now be pretty consuming from a time and finances point of view.

Will be interesting to see what happens next. I’d reckon the funding will go ahead, but that in itself is a challenge, adding a £2m loan liability that needs to be paid for in addition to ongoing losses. When asked by Simon Clark about long term commitment to the club, the answer, I think, was yes, but they’d be open to offers to buy the club? Assem Allam would be the obvious candidate with his loan to Rovers already banked, but the question would be whether the board would see him as the ideal RL custodian long term for Hull KR, I suppose.

Oh, and "Sing when you're told to"? What's that all about?

You know what, that is such a decent post, I'm not going to take issue with the couple of details I disagree on. Like seeing the first tetrapod waddle ashore. ;)

It's not an issue unique to Rovers of course - and they at least look to be considering their long-term legacy, not just their exit strategy.
The extra liability is a risk - but it gives us a chance, so it has to be worth taking.
The next couple of years are going to be very interesting all round - hopefully in a good way for us all. Slightly better for us, ideally.

Tetrapods were so dull, though. They got bored quickly, picked a massive fight with some pondlife and then got nuked by a meteorite in a set piece that could have been orchestrated by George Lucas. Blaze of glory, so to speak.

[Malcolm Tucker] Aye, George Lucas. loving brilliant that friend. Light sabres, death stars, Jabba the loving Hut, Ewok loving insurgents. People loving lapped that up. So he kept at, it doing the same thing - and you know how it ended? Jar Jar loving binks. It's been released in 3 loving D now, to squeeze a few more cents out of the mouldering rotting loving corpse of a franchise that he loved up because he didn't know when to stop. That's not a blaze of loving glory, anymore than Jive Bunny and the loving Master Mixers final loving release was. You don't have to follow that path - you could make loving THX 1138. You loving could[/Malcolm Tucker]

Anyway, apologies for that outburst, very self-indulgent - back on topic please.

BOOM!

KERPOW!

VAJAZZLE! (That's wrong isn't it?)

If I'm, not very much mistaken, this right here is a bitch slapping.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas
