Jerusalem mentions "England's green and pleasant land", don't think the rest of the country would be too happy. Land of Hope and Glory, I think I've only ever heard the chorus and most others would probably say that.

Meh. It was written at a time when "England" was often used to describe all of GB. In the same way Americans often say "England" when they actually refer to the whole UK. We sing it at sporting events. The Grand Final etc it was also sung at GB matches.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

So either a Hymn or a Triumphalist, Imperial Anthem that invokes God to help us. Never thought I'd see anyone on this site suggest such things!

Surely you don't mean "all of GB." The anthem is supposed to be for the UK, not GB. The bit you missed out, being the most patriotic.

Land of Dope and Tories is more the mark these days.
