how could any player get motivated by such a tedious character ?
spot the personality !
Martin O'Neill is touted as a future England or Man Utd manager His win record at Wycombe, Norwich, Leicester and Villa was between 38% and 46%.
McCarthy's win % are between 36% and 46% (including his stint as RoI boss).
Getting a low win stat is only to be expected when you are managing at teams like the newly promoted Sunderland and Wolves. But on the other hand you've got to factor in the fact he has taken sides to the Premier League as well., It;s not like he is without merit as a manager. Any Championship side with ambitions of getting into the PL will be interested, and McCarthy has also kept sides in the PL as well.

McCarthy is one of those managers like Neil Warnock, who is a very good Championship Manager, good at gettign teams promoted, but once he gets there he begins to struggle.
Hope Wolves stay up, they're the Premier League side whose result I look for first.

Given the mammoth advantage Premier League teams have financially over the promoted Championships sides that's hardly a thing to hold against McCarthy in my opinion. He will get another job if he wants one.
