It's only so burdensome on FC because they pull in well over 7,500 fans. The ground rent wouldn't be

Some would, and they'd no doubt be vocal. Enough to kill the club? Very possibly. But staying in an
undeveloped Craven Park isn't viable
long-term either - so it'd be more a case of no good options than idiocy.
I suspect, or hope at least, that the reality is different to what's on the surface.
