I imagine with your love of all things olde worlde that yours is a stage coach.

Already posted on Mr. Bridlington's thread before I saw this, but a travel/lift share sticky would be a great idea.

Just as a pre cursor, I'll happily give a lift to anybody, but my driving can be terrifying.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

The old Supporters Club which operated from the Robins Nest used to by very good and you often got the same people travelling on them which created its own atmosphere

As one of the bar staff I used to book people on these buses :D

I think we really miss the atmosphere of a proper supporters club!

I remember the coach we used to travel on during the eighties, it used to run from the Four in hand pub every away game and was nearly always the first coach away on the day and the first in to the pub, no mater where.
I particularly remember when we used to play Featherstone or Castleford on Sundays and used to stop of in Pontefract beforehand, although it was only about a 45 minute journey, we would set off from Hull at about 10 am to arrive at Ponty just before 11am.

Although pubs didnt officialy open until 12 o clock,(Sunday hours) there used to be one called the white elephant or something and you could go around the back where the door would be open and you could join the locals who must have been there since god knows what time in the morning.
We would stay in there untill official opening time before making our merry :DRUNK: way around the rest of the Pontefract pubs, including one called the Hollywood bar which nearly always had blue movies or something showing.
Come 2 o clock or there abouts, it would be into the Kentucky fried chicken shop before getting back on to the coach and making our way to the ground, singing at the top of our voices from wherever anyone could hear us, including out of the roofs sky lights as we arrived.
They were always mad, mad days but oh so much fun. :)

I understand that according to the Rovers website that they is a move to create a new Supporters Club they is going to be a meeting at Robins Nest on Wednesday 15th February starting at 19.30

Anyone interested should go along and see if something can be arranged.
