I don't have to explain anything to you or anyone else.

And that isn't going to happen either, just because you choose to share everything with all and sundry doesn't mean I have to.

That’s the thing - I never said you did have to. You asked me what you had to defend and what you have to go into detail about. So I told you what you could go into detail about. Whenever you want to go into detail is your choice. It is clear here that you don’t and that’s fair enough.
All your doing here is going in circles because your incapable of taking this debate with me anywhere further than your attempts to provoke me. It’s not happening

The time wasting there is who does the shortlisting in your HR department that in a climate of high unemployment where there are lots of high calibre and experienced candidates around, that timewasters get through to your interview stage.
Have you used a recruitment consultancy to do the initial shortlisting? Some of the big ones are just rip off merchants but there are smaller local based recruitment consultancies that can get you credible candidates even if you do the interviewing yourself and the smaller ones usually have decent fees.

Sadly when you run a pub you are the HR department when it comes to staff recruitment.

Very few companies use consultants to recruit basic entry level staff, the figures just don't stack up.
I just want to take some time to write my appreciation for those who’ve shown they support in this thread. It’s a very brave thing of you to do and I’m grateful for that.
I’ve took BG’s advice of reporting his conduct to the admins and it’s up to them what they do with him. If he thinks I deserve bullying then lets see what the admin team (who have a good reputation for dealing with things like this) think about that.

If the admins have sense you will be banned for bullying. Shame on you all.

There's a report here from the British Legion: http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/media/3 ... 001.06.pdf that was in 2006, so before the recession and the increase in unemployment hit, which had the shocking revelation that unemployment amongst ex members of the armed forces aged 18-49 was twice the rate of the national average for that age range.
Is it time to start looking at cutting their benefits to make them take work? At least they should be getting some entry level work, while they are looking for other jobs.
