There will be 000's of standing Rovers fans that they won't be able to get to sit down. Cramped seats problem solved. I have never sat down during the game when watching at the KC and never been told to by any stewards. Only ever told people to move off the gangway areas and the steps. Which is good because it is a health and safety risk.

The same company that do Craven Park's refreshments do the KC's unless they've changed the people who run it now? Don't think they have. Also if it's such a problem take your own refreshments.

Quite glad about the beer thing, hate getting covered in it when we score or a ref makes a poor call...etc Something Rovers should do at CP IMO.

Why would we be lining Hull FC's pockets? We would be paying a rent to the SMC and covering all match day costs. Hull FC fans would be buying tickets while our season pass holders would still get in for free. Rovers would take these ticket sales and pay the SMC with anything left going in to Hull KR's pocket.

All in all the only thing that will be missing will be an East stand atmosphere. That ground is not condusive to a singing atmosphere like our own East stand is but for one time only I can manage without that.

Some good honest points Nick.

More of CP may have been condemned by then so might be even worse :wink:

nick hkr, I take it you are in favour then! Good for you.

All I can say to you is try standing in the west stand at the KC and see what reaction you get! I don't think I will be allowed into the KC with 4 bottles of lager, do you? You might be happy about the 'beer thing' but I ain't and many 000's won't be either. Don't kid yourself, any money paid to the SMC will filter through to FC in some shape or form.

If it is played at the KC I will watch it on the box (assuming Sky coverage) or a day or so later on HKRTV. I might even be bloody minded enough and think about asking for a refund on my season pass, which I bought to watch Rovers play at MS3CP not elsewhere.

I'll be happy not to have beer thrown over me. So I guess that's Nick and me versus 000's.
Never realized so many people enjoyed the experience.

I'm Rovers 'til I'm dry!

Joke, btw. Too lazy to even climb on the bandwagon properly, me.

A chance to buy a ticket in covered seating for a derby - even when the new North is up, that might not be easy. Easter as well, so I can combine with visiting my folks, and maybe my tiny-lugged friend. Double plus good.

Thoughts ...

I'm still leaning towards I'd rather play the game @ CP - however if the urban legend (or ledgend for the dope with the banner) is to be believed, and we're not paying any hire costs, then financially it's not as big a risk as I started to think it was.

The story in the mail does stink of an internet scoop, but everything right now looks like this is more likely to happen than not. The bit that catches my eye - is the surrender home advantage. Wonder if this means that we're surrendering the right to play the game as a 'home' match and play it as an 'away' game instead. I hope I'm wrong, but in truth, it would seem the easiest solution to what could possibly be a massive ball ache to organise

I have emailed Mike Smith and voiced my concerns about playing at the KC, they are:

- Over zealous and high-handed stewarding;
- not being able to stand;
- cramped seats;
- poor and bloody expensive refreshments;
- not being able take a beer into the arena;
- and last but not least, a bloody-minded attitude of not wanting to line their pockets.

With all of these points in mind, I have asked Mike to talk to the Board and consider playing the game elsewhere. I actually agree with slammers suggestion on the HDM threads- playing it in Dublin. Anywhere but the KC.

Wouldn't purchasing the refreshments and beer at the KC mean lining their pockets anyway ?

Therein lies the problem for RL in this City. The dreaded sin that some of my money might end up in the other club's pocket!

Unless we surrender the right of home advantage and play the game as an away game - no money would filter through to FC - only their commission on their ticket sales. SMC is fully controlled by Allam/City so he/they would be the benefactors.

Standing @ the KC for a derby is only possible when you're prepared to get to the ground early in order to secure a seat @ the back I've found

Solely for the irritation levels it's causing on The Wrong Side Of The Chocolate River's Tributary, I'm all for it.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.
