I wonder if we'll have a statement at PMQs congratulating the workers of this country for doing their bit in these hard times?

I'm not sure the point you're trying to make is relevant. If all months were exactly the same length, then yes, but we had feb where people work 2 or 3 days shorter than other months for the same monthly salary or working an extra day in July for the same pay as you would get in June.

That much is patently obvious

To the best of my knowledge usually all those months add up to 356 days, however this year being a leap year there is one extra day, hence working one extra day for nowt.

It will be a small pay back for the time some on here spend browsing this site at their employers expense!! swing and roundabouts I would say? I bet I know who is really losing out!!

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

The actual fact is people won't work for free on 29 Feb, they've just had three quarter days pay for nothing in previous years.

Not those on weekly, fortnightly or lunar-monthly pay

If you're on weekly pay, you get paid for a week; ditto fortnightly.... You don't work a day for free.

You do if you're paid calendar-monthly

No the calendar month of February this month is 29 days (which is 2 days less than several other months).
