(we dont usually agree do we) Dont want to have to try and explain design and build, but its not the contractor who designs, the contractor does what it says on the plans, believe me, if anyone from the builders thought for one second it was the contractors fault they would be shouting it from the (damaged rooftop). there will be people now working out calculations to stop this happening again. Then we can move on, ill bet there has not been one building site ever without problems, its just one of those things, but our stadium is in the spotlight so everything is blown out of proportion
Clearly you are an expert in this, but what you are saying, and what the contractor is saying are two completely different things. Are you saying that the contractor lied in this article, because it is pretty clear to me that they are claiming the credit on numerous occasions for designing the roof as well? Maybe you could take some time to explain design and build, because it is pretty confusing to a mere pleb like me.
CSP Roofing designed and installed the roof of St Helens’ new £20m Langtree Park ground. The 18,000-seat stadium is due to open in time for the new Super League season which kicks off next January.
Contracts director Keith Hope said: “This was a very important contract for us.
“It took a lot of design work and there was immense pressure to get it completed on time, which we did.
“It took some getting because the design work involved was pretty intensive. I think that’s why we shone through and won the work; because we were able to come up with answers.

By design I meant in the structure of the stadium itself as some seem to be alluding too. It is more likely that the crimps weren't strong enough for the job or weren't in place properly.
I have just attempted to access CSPs website and it doesn't appear to exist yet or would appear to be in the stages of development on another link. This is a bit concerning as I would think that a firm that claims to be expanding so rapidly would have a website. Would redvee if not the club consider emailing them for a clear and transparent answer as to the root cause of the roofing failure? In the interests of spectator confidence and the company's reputation I think this would be helpful. I could do it personally but I think if the redvee or the club did it it would have more clout. If the company are proactive rather than reactive I would imagine they would be keeping an eye on this forum and RLfans and be preparing a response.

It would be quite amusing.

I've still got mine from my offshore, refinery days. The best ever was a pair of Rayban sun/safety glasses from when I was working in Texas. I got a load of "urine extraction" when I started wearing them back in the U.K. though.
Pure jealousy.

exile You seem to be making the asumption that the roofer is at fault, I wish people would stop trying to pick people up before they have fallen over. Why would you think a company would be looking at a fans forum to prepare anything i dont know.
