Pugwash!

So now that you've established that Hull're staying at home, what do your indomitable sources advise to be the agenda at Chants Ave? Is it worth me popping down on occasion for a gander? What days are best?

Getting the team to bond and understand each other better on and off the field, seems a good move to me...BUT across the river the Hull Board want to cancel their trip stating we need to train in the bitter cold twice a day as these are the real conditions they will play in.

Question is ....Have we got it right or have Hull?

May be the real reason for Hull pulling out of the trip is financial? or can the players not be trusted or can the club not afford any more publicity? its a strange one.

Speaking to Ben Galea he feels the week away is worth 2 weeks full time training here and he and the rest of the team are fit and ready for the new season.

It truly is. An article published on the Hull FC website today quotes a Peter Gentle Q&A as follows:
Q: The warm weather camp in Tenerife is just around the corner. What are you hoping to achieve while you are out there?

A: We see the Tenerife trip as the key part of our preparations for the new season. It’s absolutely crucial for us.

It will be a good chance to bring everybody together in a new environment and also to get through a lot of work in training.

We’ve structured a lot of our pre-season around this camp and we are heading there with some good work behind us and with some good structures in place.

Tenerife will be the place where we bring everything together and get ourselves ready for playing when we get back."

Hopefully AP will put him straight before he's packed. Assuming you are correct, of course.

Presumably it will cost rovers when we cancel the trip as we negotiated a discount when booking both trips together. Shame

New regime or not @ Hull - how can anyone doubt Pugwash on this?

Had a chat with Shaun McCrae last night at an FC Voices meeting. He laughed when we asked him (tongue in cheek) if the training was cancelled. The team are travelling down to Manchester tomorrow and staying in a hotel overnight for an early morning Saturday flight. They are in Tenerife until Friday 13th Jan.

My dad is on holiday out there at the moment and is travelling to the training centre which is not too far away from Los Christianos where my dad is staying, to see them train. I shall post photos on Monday morning for Puggy's benefit

WE DONT WANT TO SEE PICTURES OF GENTLE ON A DECK CHAIR OR YEAMAN WEARING HIS ARM BANDS THANKS. THEYVE NOT GONE THERE TO TRAIN, THEYVE GONE TO AVOID THIS CITY AS THE PRESSURE IS TOO MUCH FOR THEM :FRUSRATED:

May be a while before he sees them. He hasn't been seen on here since, hmm...

Well, FC are on the flight to Tenerife this morning. You just made all of this up, didn't you? Very naughty. :NAUGHTY: BTW, using "state" instead of "say" adds no gravitas to your assertions. In your case it's actually the reverse.

It's proven Pugwash was incorrect and it doesn't look like he wishes to explain why.
Therefore its probably a good idea to move the thread onto the benefits of warm weather training against training outdoors in a British winter.
Otherwise it will have no real purpose other then to antagonize the OP.

If you post outright lies that are soley designed to antagonise other people then you are quite correctly going to be pilliored.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas
