Marginally worse than being offered a glass of Harvey's Bristol Cream thats been in the drinks cabinet for at least 5 years.

Let’s not forget resilience.

Uuurgh !

Not forgetting the "Bleeding Heart"

Aye, once opened, a bottle of decent sherry should be consumed, just as you would a bottle of any wine, i.e. within a day or not much longer.

Bristol Cream, however, should stay in the cupboard forever or, at a push, be used in the bottom of a trifle.

Advocaat. Second only to Baileys in the "You're sober and you're really going to drink that?" stakes.

Ugh.

Best left to 'daring' maiden aunts.

Warninks Advocaat and De Kuyper Cherry Brandy held pride of place in my mum's drinks cabinet ... oh, and Babycham.
They were hard times for a budding drinker like myself.
Cue the Monty Python sketch about hardship.

Oh and I just found this out....

How spooky is that?

Am ex of mine once persuaded me to drink two shots: one containing Bailey's the other Cointreau. I was told to knock back the Bailey's first but keep it in my mouth, then hit the Cointreau and also keep it in my mouth.

When I spat the curdling mess on the floor she said: "now you know how it feels, you bastad"
