1 key diffrence. By all accounts K.Senior=Pay as you play. S.Long (Example)=Damn large 2 year contract.
Or Tony Martin (Example) = small contract and 33 at the end of next season, vs Senior = 36
I'm not saying Martin is a good signing, far from it, and made this point in rather stronger terms at the time. Key difference = FC fans being able to say what they see, rather than say "If it's a deal done by Mike Smith, it must be utterly brilliant."
Senior? My god, don't any of you ever criticise us again.
When did he last play? Hasn't he just had a knee reconstruction? Which he's then had several problems with in rehabilitation due to infections? Isn't he 36? You've really outdone us this time, well done.
He won't sign on a pay as you play deal either, what's in that for him? Are those contracts even allowed with a live cap? How much cap you going to keep spare in case he's needed?

Oh give over, get off your knees and put the tissues away.
It's an HDM exclusive which means it's probably as crap as Reece Lyne, if it's true, however, and we do sign Senior, more fool us. We can still laugh at your lot though, of course we can, because you say we can't or shouldn't just makes it more worthwhile.

Think you may have misjudged me a little here sweet cheeks. I posted in reference to your own fans reactions (noted, not yours) to the HDM 'exclusive' rather than the 'exclusive' itself.

You are choosing to ignore the comparison with the ridicule pointed at the signing of the 2 and a half years younger Martin, I see, which is understandable.
But the inescapable fact is that it is extremely rare for signings by Rovers, even ones that are the height of mediocrity or ones with ludicrous hype (Ratu, Fozzard, Ward, Mason, blah, blah, blah) are welcomed on here with "Great signing in the context of <insert comment on magnificent potential if unproven, incredible experience to bring off the pitch if past it>. Perhaps on FC's board we are overly critical, with a universal lukewarm, if not downright frosty, reception for the likes of Aspinwall and Martin, but we do at least apply some sort of critique. Considering both sides are much of a muchness and mid-table mediocrity fodder, I'd say we are nearer to reality. Just an observation.

Sport is about hopes and aspirations, what's the point in being miserable about your own team??
On the other point, all Martin;'s are brill, plaice or Lemon Sole.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Been following the game long?
Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?

'I'm not saying Martin is a good signing, far from it, and made this point in rather stronger terms at the time.' 'Key difference = FC fans being able to say what they see, rather than say "If it's a deal done by Mike Smith, it must be utterly brilliant.' So in the one breath you are saying that YOU don't like the signing but then state that FC FANS (Notice the plural there without the word 'some'?) are able to say what they see, rather than say 'Blah, Blah'
Even a one eyed FC fan can see what you were saying and it was rather a silly thing to say.
Like I said please quote me saying that ta.
Infact in the post above you have confirmed you WERE talking in the universal plural with the line 'Perhaps on FC's board we are overly critical, with a universal lukewarm, if not downright frosty, reception for the likes of Aspinwall and Martin, but we do at least apply some sort of critique.'
So I think we can confirm you WERE saying what I thought you were ta. Unless of course you can explain what you meant by 'universal'
Oh and also if this rumour is true then there is everychance we will be paying Senior a fair bit less (Who is the first 17 is he going to get in front of?) than you are paying for Martin, Still as long as you are happy.

Well, if I could tear you away from your assumptions regarding Mrs. B. What makes you believe he'd be on a fair bit less? I wouldn't think you'd get him on much less than £50-60k if you signed him on a full-time deal. Next option is 'Pay As You Play' which is a lot more far-fetched IMO. Why would Senior at his age and with his, presumably nice retirement fund, want to travel to Hull to train 4 days a week without the promise of a game? Also, how much would he get per game? I'd say £3-4k as a guesstimate, any less and again, he wouldn't see any benefit. Also, how much are you willing to put away 'just in case'? Webster averages 6 or 7 games out a year, so maybe 10? What if Webster and Welham stay fit? £40k unspent just in case seems a lot to me. Maybe the RFL will accept semi-variable cost contracts? What happens if Welham/Webster get season ending injuries early on? Do you then just pick & choose the games Senior plays in so you don't break the cap?
Also, with this rumour and Hall getting the 2 shirt does it spell the end for him as a centre?
Pay as you play would be baffling, which is why I think it's a non-story and I think Keiths holding out for more money on a 1 year deal personally.
