Adrian has been granted a 3 month Testimonial for services to the RL?

Now i like Morley and he's a good player but a testimonial to me is for giving 10yrs dedication to one club?

Does he deserve this?

Was thinking that myself... However RL players don't earn a ridiculous amount when you compare to other sports and added risk of lengthy injuries if not permanent so maybe not an overly bad thing... Then again you'd have to have one for most players I guess!

What's the issue? Nobody who doesn't want to will need to get involved in running it; nobody will be forced to contribute to it.

No, Morley isn't 'most players', quite the opposite, and anyway any player who thinks they deserve one could apply.

So a player can leave superleague go play in another country and be gifted a testimonial because he's a good player?

I don't see the problem...he has given many along year to rugby league.

No one is forcing anyone to contribute to it.

Shouldn't call it a testimonial then? Call it loyal service award or Adrian Morlley fan club award etc?

Note that it's a 3 month testimonial, rather than a full year, thus recognising the distinction between long and distinguished playing career versus single club loyalty (on top of a long and distinguished playing career).

As has been said, if you don't think he deserves any recognition, then don't contribute. Simple as that.
