Is that record 'downtime' and does it accurately reflect fan's current level of interest in the club?

Station Announcement!!!

Reduced traffic due to repeated derailments?

"Castleford's biggest home crowd of the 1991-1992 season wasn't quite 12,000 while on average they'd sit around 6000 but the noise, the chanting and the singing just blows you away" - Tawera Nikau "Standing Tall"

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League"

I just think people are fed-up with posts been de-railed on here all the time by the usual suspects.

Tough one to call this - I've noticed a real dip in posts for quite some time.

Hopefully, it's nothing too indicative in terms of general indifference - afterall keeping Chase and most of our great young hopes (all playing under a new coach with a track-record in succeeding with strong academy set-ups) should be good signs for some on-pitch momentum.

However, stadium dreams seem ever more likely to be just that, and I doubt very few fans are feeling genuinely optimistic about long-term Super League sustainability.

Hate to end on such a pessimistic note, but I'm certain that if Wakefield get a ground up well in advance of ours then we'll be booted out (possibly even before the licence period expires).

I would say its a few things....

1. Its the off season.
2. People might be fed up with thread derailment by fans from other clubs (usually Wakefield) so choose not to bother posting, or post on the Casforum.
3. Lack of excitement about the new arrivals at the club.
4. Further delays for the sale of the Wheldon Road site.

I would be concerned if it doesn't pick up after the friendlies start.

Think it's quite a combination of things really.

There's nothing to talk about at all with nothing about the stadium or players to discuss which means the forum is naturally going to be quieter.

Then if there is a stadium thread you can expect to see our friends from Wakefield all come flocking over and making zero posts that are actually on topic.

But there is a game in a couple of weeks so we might have something to talk about then!...or we could talk about Huby & Ferres not being ready for the start of the season...

On the most part, there's nothing to talk about and when there is it's usually negative it seems :(

As for signings, who's really going to get excited about the likes of Josh Griffin and Steve Nash?

It's probably because we all have better things to do.

Because (and I fully admit I'm partly to blame, but in my defence, I'm only defending the club when I start) we're sick to death of all the threads turning into slanging matches.

Goodbye all. It was nice knowing most of you.

To be fair, they wouldn't if people could hold their water. As someone has said, there's always the usual 2/3 culprits that feel the need to derail or add bile to every thread.

Think everyone has covered it, it is a slow news off season, becuase for once we WONT be having a lare turnover in playing staff - Good news.

And I think the same as everyone else has said - I try really hard to have balanced conversations and I am more than capable of having a dialogue with people of differing views, but it is increasingly pointless.

Agree with another poster too, between us and Wakey it is a simple footrace on stadia...... The team that pours the first foundation piling and lays the first brick gets a license and a future in the top flights, the one that doesnt, doesnt - Simples..... Same as it has always been since we switched to license criteria, except now there are options outside SL that could be argued on paper bring more to SLE than us and Wakey. To be honest, it is a straight first over the line.
