In an unprecedented fashion, Doncaster RLFC's head coach Tony Miller is requesting all Dons fans and supporters, old and new, to attend an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday 13 December 2011.

The club has an opportunity to sign a proven and experienced Super League player but they can't do it without the help of their fans and supporters. This is the first time that Miller has called such a meeting which highlights the important nature of the matter - all details will be revealed on the night.

Miller said: "We all know that the forthcoming season is arguably the most important of the club's history and we've made it no secret that we're targeting a return to the Championship.

"If we're to achieve our objectives, we need to sign the best players that are available to us.

"An opportunity has arisen for the club to sign a player of undoubted class - this is simply an opportunity that the club cannot afford to miss out on.

"Please encourage all your friends and family to attend the meeting and spread the word around town. I look forward to seeing you all there."

Along with Miller, members of the club's Advisory Group will also be in attendance and fans and supporters will be given the chance to question the group ahead of the new season.

The meeting is to be held at the Lakeside Suite (Kiwi Café) at the Keepmoat Stadium and will start at 7:00pm. The bar will be open for refreshments.

Please do your best to attend the meeting. Thank-you for your continued support.

Fans have been calling for a name , now we/they will have a chance to do something about it .

Interesting to see the response to the call to arms !

Well, I have not attended meetings of late.
But I will be at this one.
No doubt the club will be asking for extra financial help to enable them to sign this player. And in this case that is fine by me, I will sign a pledge to donate so much a month, if that is what it takes.
I would urge everyone else to do the same.
Do we want a decent side or what???

The season ticket was cheap anyway.

Ooooh, I am starting to get excited again!!!!

Well , it will be interesting to see who the player is . Think it will need quite a few promises from fans and business folk .

I assume the player will be on a paid contract attracting a regular payment from the club. I will be attending the meeting & trying to get others from the Thorne area to attend .

Good man weighman.
Has this forum caught some contagion or something?
Where are people when they are needed?

The supporters on here can do their bit by trying to get more to the meeting.
