Saints voted against and we abstained. From the report I read on the Guardian Website the whole current play-off system, including clubcall, was put to clubs as a take it or leave it package.

Abstained !! Haven't the club got an opinion?

I'm sure they do and my guess is that the answer is they voted no. However, considering we were the last Club Call team and we got knocked out by the team we picked it would have looked like sour grapes if we voted no.

We're all grown adults Ian !! Surely we're big enough to have an opinion and the gonads to express them. Tony Smith certainly did before and after this years club call. Abstaining in any vote is a cop out.

But the vote wasn't just about club-call it was on having an eight-team play-off series. Perhaps the club was in favour of having eight team play-offs but against club-call so rather than vote against the bigger issue they registered their opposition to the club-call element by abstaining.

PY not so often you and I agree but this time I think you're correct. However it should have been two different votes, 8 club play off and club call.
