International coaching can stop poor coaches from being exposed to an extent because there are so many other factors that play a part in a national side's performance. Harris looked like a reasonable coach coming out of this 4N but in reality he's far from it. England can persist with McNamara for as long as they like and claim that he's 'improving team ethos' or whatever as much as they want, but they will never beat Australia or win a tournament with McNamara in charge because tactically he's way, way out of his depth. In fact I think this was probably his best chance, since I can't envisage NZ being anywhere near as weak in future years.

Tonite was about the team pal not one player get a grip ffs

Impossible to say really given that I don't know who's available and would be willing to do the job.

yeah .........i ............know thats why im defending mcnamara as coach NOT the team there were a few players who were inept tonight not upset your loyal leeds sensibilities i thought hall was very good and overall had an excellent series but sinfield in his position is given the responsibility of marshalling the players around and giving the team territory or attack your right though i take it back i shouldnt single out one player so get rid of peacock hes a shadow of himself jjb bloody liability

So on the basis of your answer it would be a fools errand going through the process of getting a new coach with wc 2 years off.?On that premise McNamaras is best man for the job plus i dont think your entirely confident there are that many available,up to or willing to take the job

I never claimed that I had a replacement lined up, although I struggle to believe that there aren't better options available than McNamara. Even if that's the case though, it doesn't mean that he's good enough for the job.

It would be fickle to assume whoever is in the england selection panel hasnt got a clue when it comes to proccessing who gets the job from quite a few applicants.and based upon what they heard what he(mcnamara) offered they felt he was the bloke for the job.this team 'ethos' which i keep bangin on about is essential for whole structure of england mcnamaras worked tirelessly to bring it together it wasnt a 2 year plan culminating in this particualr 4n series.anyway WHO WOULD YOU PICK ?

McNamara looks to have got us well organised off the field but sadly the on field organisation was a shambles last night. There was a total lack of direction from the halves and their inability to get Sam Tomkins involved close to the Aussie line was criminal with them constantly hitting Wilkin and Ellis with short balls instead of using our number one attacking weapon on the loop.
The Aussies don't do anything special really. They're supremely organised and my own club Wigan tried to copy that style for the past 2 years. We were accused of being boring but it's simplicity and organisation is supreme. We could never claim to have mastered it like the Aussies have but it's like clockwork watching everyone knowing their roles to a tee and pulling off the timing.
