I wouldn't disagree, but the Thurston 'tackle' is an odd one.....He showed no intention to go for anything else but Hall's head....It was a definite 10 minutes and a ref with balls could easily have been within his rights to show a red.
And so you aim towards the sky, And you'll rise high today, Fly away, Far away, Far from pain....

Yeah and Australia had 6 points snatched away from them for no reason whatsoever. Swings and roundabouts.

It wasn't 10 , it should have been red
Dirty cheating Aussie scum , no excuse , it was a head tackle in the act of scoring , should have walked

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

A yellow would have been harsh and you want to give a red for that? How soft has English League gotten? There was once a time when we were the alpha males of League, now it seems English fans will sooner burst into tears and act like football mums

I thought so too. He wasn't in the actual act of scoring when the high tackle came in (so it can't be a penalty try), but he was when he got the knee to the face. Whether that's why Smith gave it, I have no idea. He's already shown a pretty partial grasp of the rules of the game.
