there is nothing wrong with the venue for this final!
if NZ and OZ were competing instead of us there would have been 25,000 tops!
they have to book the venue well in advance, it is right in the middle of all would be travelling fans, and who'd have thought that all of a sudden there would be so much demand for tickets so late in the day?!
England have played well in this tournament and have attracted some 'Box watchers' that usually go to the pub or stay at home.
If people cant get tickets because it is a sell out and cant go, that their fault for not buying earlier!
realistically how many more would have gone if we'd have played it at Old Tr or Eastlands?
A headline of 'FINAL - SELL OUT!!' can only look possitive on RL.

Yep, the England matches have pulled four record attendances this season.

just to note as well.......a 32k+ attendance would put us roughly equal or slightly better than the 19,644 average attendance for the 2010 4nations held down under.....we're currently on 17,731 with a game to go

Really? That was really well attended though! Is that just England matches or all matches?
I know we've bettered the overall attendance of the 2009 comp.

Really you should divide the double header into two as it was two games. I know the 2010 one had a double header but if we're comparing accross the tournaments of the past few years it gives a fairer indication

Whats the record 4Ns/Tri Nations average attendance?
Personally i've loved this tournament.
To be fair, Chorlton RL predicted these crowds before it started!

Stats from Rugby League Project
2009; England France - 11,529 Australia New Zealand - 12,360 England Australia - 23,122 France New Zealand - 12,410 England New Zealand - 19,390 France Australia - 8,656 Final - 31,042
Total = 118509 Average = 16930
2010; New Zealand England - 20,681 Australia Papua New Guinea - 11,308 New Zealand Papua New Guinea - 11,500 Australia England - 18,894 Double Header - 44,324 Final - 36,299
Total = 143006 (from six gates) Average = 20429 (across seven matches)
2011; Australia New Zealand - 12,491 England Wales - 10,377 Double Header - 42,344 England New Zealand - 23,447 Wales Australia - 5,233
Total = 93892 (from five gates) Average = 15649 (across six matches)
Total with 36k at Elland Rd = 129892 Average across seven matches = 18556
I think all things considered this is a tremendous achievement and in a way shows that international RL is more popular over here than down under and is growing well for 2013.
